Today, we are looking for an experienced Interior Designer and CAD/BIM Technician to join our studio here in the heart of Kitsilano’s Armoury District.

INTERIOR DESIGNERS

 

RESPONSIBILITIES
This multi-faceted position will rely on your creativity and technical skills to drive our multi-residential projects from design concept to construction, ensuring all aspects meet and exceed our quality standards.

  • Create, develop and execute design concepts that are impactful and aligned with the intended purpose and project design strategy
  • Work with Project Leads in the development of large-scale projects
  • Manage and carry out multiple projects of varying stages of completion from concept to construction within schedule and budget
  • Translate design sketches, renderings, and preliminary drawings into full working drawings [including architectural and millwork details]
  • Adhere to studio CAD standards
  • Assist in coordination with Consultants
  • Assist in construction administration [including RFIs and shop drawing reviews]
  • Establish trusting relationships with clients through successful management of expectations and requests, consistent communication, and captivating deliverables
  • Actively work at improving overall skills

 

QUALIFICATIONS
IDG is an exemplary group of designers committed to a team approach in all we do. 

  • Degree or diploma in Interior Design
  • Minimum 3 years of experience [within Canada]
  • Familiar with the BC Bldg. Code pertinent to the standard practices of Interior Design
  • Able to clearly express concepts in three dimensions through 3D modelling or freehand sketching
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluent English written and verbal communication skills
  • Accustomed to working in a fast‐paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Excellent time and priority management – able to successfully handle multiple projects at once
  • BC Driver’s Licence
  • Resourceful, curious, inspired, and creative

 

SOFTWARE SKILLS

  • Microsoft Office
  • AutoCAD
  • Revit [a plus!]
  • SketchUp | Enscape
  • Adobe Creative Cloud [Photoshop | InDesign | Acrobat, Illustrator]
  • Microsoft Office (Word | Excel | PowerPoint | Outlook]

 

 

 

CAD/BIM TECHNICIAN

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

This multi-faceted position will rely on your creativity and technical skills to drive our multi-residential projects from design concept to construction, ensuring all aspects meet and exceed our quality standards.

  • Works with Project Leads in the development of large-scale projects
  • Translates design sketches, renderings, and preliminary drawings into full working drawings including architectural and millwork details
  • Ensures design vision is consistent throughout drawings
  • Applies knowledge in BC Building Code
  • Adheres to studio CAD standards
  • Assists in developing studio BIM standards
  • Assists Designers in aligning specifications to drawings
  • Assists in coordination with consultants
  • Assists in construction administration including RFIs and shop drawing reviews
  • Actively works at improving technical skills

 

QUALIFICATIONS

IDG is an exemplary group of designers committed to a team approach in all we do. 

  • 3+ years local experience with medium to large scale projects.
  • Bachelor or Masters Degree in Architecture, or Technology in Architectural Science
  • Degree or diploma in Architectural Technology
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
  • Strong technical knowledge and ability to coordinate design information from consultants
  • Able to clearly express design details verbally and through freehand sketching
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Familiar with the BC Building Code pertinent to the standard practices of Interior Design
  • Accustomed to working in a deadline-oriented environment
  • Able to successfully handle multiple projects at once
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate in three dimensions
  • Fluent English written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time and priority management
  • Ability to work collaboratively with project team members
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with internal colleagues, and external clients, consultants, and suppliers
  • Resourceful, curious, inspired, and creative
